- Does it fit?
- Is it comfortable?
- Do I mind that Joella will inevitably spit up on it?
- Does it look completely ridiculous? For example, does it make me look like a clown? I've had a sweater with big buttons in the past. It was cute, but every time I put it on, I felt like a clown. I've also had a shirt that gave me a similar feeling, only this time I pictured myself as George Washington each time I walked past a mirror. Why I would buy a shirt that made me feel like a clown or George Washington, I don't know. I guess that's why I've gotten smart and stick mostly with plain things depending on the weather. Jeans & a plain tank, jeans & a plain t-shirt, jeans & a plain long sleeve shirt, or maybe a combination of them all - you get the idea.
My inspiration
Just in case you didn't quite get my "inspiration"
Another example: I think I was the inspiration on this one though...
Notice how the pants are a completely different color? I thought it was kind of silly the first time I saw it but I've grown accustomed to it. Rumor has it that the pants and coats used to be the same color -- soldiers would take their coats off and their pants would fade in the sun so they just started producing them completely different colors. I did some snooping online, and it sounds like the reason for the difference in colors may actually just be the development of the uniforms over time (at one time they were both dark blue, then light blue to save $ w/ dying costs & to prevent fading, then changes to distinguish between enlisted and officers, etc...). I'm not 100% sure what the real reason is, but I thought it was kind of interesting. While Matt was in Nebraska, I stayed here with Joella and the dogs (ours plus Matt's parents' Golden Retriever, Cassie). We had a big day Sunday. We made the trip to church on our own without any major meltdowns AND we went to the bark park with both our dogs. Logistically that was a small challenge but it was worth it since it was so nice outside (72 degrees!). TWO outings in a day -- I think that was an accomplishment! Now Matt's back and flying his last couple of nights. Time is going so fast -- we'll be leaving Fort Rucker in roughly a month!
